Restylane® injections are the
smart and easy way to add volume and smoothness to your
skin. Restylane® is based on a hyaluronic acid gel
that closely resembles the body's own hyaluronic acid
restylane - a natural, safe and long-lasting beauty
lift
Impressions of beauty change over time, as do our faces
when we age. Smoothing out folds and wrinkles or enhancing
lips with Restylane injections by adding volume can
make an enormous difference in one’s appearance. Among
fillers, there is a wide variety of methods and substances
that may enhance facial features. With Restylane injections,
this can now be carried out without the use of foreign
substances. Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines, and Perlane
contain the body's own natural material, hyaluronic
acid, which is present in all living organisms. In the
skin it creates volume, resulting in a healthy and vital
appearance. Since the hyaluronic acid in Restylane is
not made from animals, there is no risk of transmitting
diseases from animals or eliciting allergic reactions
in patients who are sensitive to common foods, such
as beef, chicken and eggs.
• RESTYLANE injections are intended for wrinkle correction
and lip augmentation.
• “RESTYLANE Fine Lines” injections are used for correcting
thin superficial lines (such as around the mouth), forehead
lines and smile lines.
• PERLANE injections can be used for shaping facial
contours (such as in the cheeks and chin), correcting
deep folds, and for lip augmentation.
restylane is fast and safe, with immediate results
Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines, and Perlane are not
of animal or human origin, therefore a skin test is
not needed and you can have the Restylane treatments
performed immediately. When treating wrinkles or folds,
Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines, or Perlane is injected
into the skin in tiny amounts with a very thin needle.
The Restylane injections give natural volume under the
wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. A Restylane
treatment takes about 15 minutes and the results can
be seen immediately.
what to expect after restylane treatments
After Restylane treatment you may experience some swelling,
tenderness and redness. This is a normal result of a
Restylane injection and the symptoms generally disappear
in two to four days. Restylane injections are fast and
safe and leaves no scars or other traces on the face.
long-lasting results with restylane injections
Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines and Perlane are biodegradable
which means that they will gradually be absorbed. As
the gel breaks down, water takes its place, and when
totally absorbed, the Restylane gel disappears unnoticed
from the body. How long a Restylane treatment holds
its effect is very individual. This depends on many
factors, such as your age, skin type, lifestyle, and
muscle activity, as well as on the Restylane injection
technique. Clinical trials of Restylane show that Restylane,
Restylane Fine Lines, and Perlane are effective for
up to six months after lip augmentation and up to twelve
months after facial contouring.
Restylane Fine Lines is not yet FDA approved.
what is Restylane?
Restylane is a temporary, injectable filler that is
injected into the skin for facial contouring, lip augmentation
and wrinkle correction.
what makes Restylane different than other dermal
fillers?
Restylane is made from hyaluronic acid, a substance
that occurs naturally in the body to attract moisture
and add cushioning. Unlike most injectable products,
Restylane is not made from animal products and does
not require an allergy test prior to injection.
how is Restylane different from Botox?
Restylane is injected into the skin to decrease lines
or add fullness. Botox is injected into the muscle to
decrease muscle contraction. Both Restylane and Botox
are sometimes used simultaneously such as between the
eyebrows, since decreasing muscle contraction with Botox
will help the Restylane to last longer.
how long do the effects of Restylane last?
When injected properly, the effects of Restylane last
up to 6 months in the lips and up to 12 months in other
parts of the face. On average, Restylane lasts twice
as long as collagen based fillers.
in what areas can Restylane be used?
Restylane can be used to fill in lines and wrinkles
on the face such as between the eyebrows, on the forehead,
the crow's feet, nasolabial folds (from lip to mouth),
marionette lines, and lip lines. It can also be used
to add definition to the border of the lip, or to fill
in acne scars. Perlane is a thicker filler similar to
Restylane that can be used for facial contouring, such
as cheek or lip augmentation.
what are the side effects of Restylane injections?
It is normal after Restylane treatments to have redness,
swelling, pain or tenderness lasting for a few days.
Restylane is very safe, but in a small percentage of
people, the temporary effects of redness, swelling,
and tenderness can last for several weeks.
how long does the actual procedure take?
Depending on how many areas you have treated, the actual
Restylane injections may take 5 to 30 minutes.
are Restylane injections painful?
Restylane does not contain an anesthetic (numbing medicine),
so injections can be uncomfortable. Topical numbing
creams or nerve blocks to numb the lips, for instance,
are commonly used before Restylane treatments to make
the procedure more comfortable for you. Most people
do not require an anesthetic for filling in of wrinkles
with Restylane injections.
how long before I can go back to work after Restylane
treatments?
Most people can return to work immediately after Restylane
treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. If you have Restylane
injections in your lips, swelling usually lasts for
several days, and sometime.

can you do other facial procedures with Restylane?

pulsed light, or other in-office treatments requiring
litle or no recovery time. Restylane injections can
also be performed in conjunction with surgical procedures
such as eyelid surgery or face lift surgery.
what can i do to prepare for Restylane injections?
It is best if you stop aspirin, vitamin E, and anti-inflammtory
medications such as Advil, Motrin, or Ibuprofen, as
these can increase your risk of bruising and bleeding.
If you have a history of cold sores around your mouth
and wish to have injections in that area, ask us about
a prescription for anti-viral medication.
